Dogo- A Combat Military Robot
Military weapons are advancing at an incredible rate. If you
compare old world war weapons to what we have now, technology involving is mind-blowing. But there is a new trend when it comes to military hardware and that’s
where robots involve in fighting for humans. Imagine a battlefield of fully
autonomous robots fighting a massive battle of taking the orders without human
causalities.
Let’s check out this innovative “tactical combat robot” that will
change the cause of warfare. So today we are going to talk about a military
robot known as “Dogo”, which is named after the Argentinian Mastiff, a fearless
breed of a dog trained to protect human companions. The Dogo is a compact powerhouse
of muscle and force created to serve as a “watchdog” for soldiers in the field.
It can be easily carried by one hand since it is weightless and this battery-powered Dogo is also used for anti-terror, hostage rescue, target detection,
clear obstacles, and traverse over any obstacle including climbing stairs and
staying for long hours in undergrounds.
It is equipped with 6 wide angle micro-video, day/night cameras
allowing the operator to see in a 3600 view. Not only it can spot
targets remotely but it is also armed with a Glock pistol with another 2
cameras in addition along the barrow. The gun itself is integrally built to
house 9mm Glock 26 pistols in its belly. A baby Glock that is slotted into the
robot and has a magazine of 14 rounds. The operator uses a point and shoot
interface using their fingers to land the laser resulting in a pinpoint
accuracy with each shot. The Dogo can fire 5 rounds in 2 seconds and because of
its size, it is not affected by the recoil.
The robot also has some additional feature that has been
added for police use such as microphones and speakers for remote negotiations.
It is outfitted with non-lethal weapons such as pepper sprays for an effective
range of 18 feet that sprays at a continuous stream.
